Here Medea meditates upon the murder of her children.

The fresco was discovered on the wall of the atrium of a building called House of Castor during excavation in 1828-1829.

It was reproduced as a painting from Desire Raoul-Rochette, Choix de Peintures de Pompei, in 1867.

Medea turns a ram into a lamb using a cauldron, showing Pelias that she can rejuvenate him..

This vase dates back to 510-500 B.C.  In 1960 it was purchased and is now in Cambridge's Collection in the Harvard University Art Museum.
